    De La Salle 0-14 St. Saviours 0-4

    Our senior footballers got their championship campaign off to the best possible start when they produced an excellent performance to come away with a fine win over St. Saviours in Walsh Park last Sunday in what was a sporting encounter throughout.
    We had first use of the wind and a point from Colm Morris and two frees from Ian Cantwell had us ahead 0-3 to 0-0 after eleven minutes. St. Saviours opened their account in the 16th minute but further points from Mitchell Casey (2), Colm Morris and David Kennedy had us ahead 0-7 to 0-1 after twenty four minutes. St. Saviours then pointed twice but Ian Cantwell replied with a free in injury time to see us ahead 0-8 to 0-3 at the interval.

    The second half was scoreless until the 12th minute when Ian Cantwell pointed another free which was followed immediately by a Stephen Walsh point. St. Saviours pointed a free in the 15th minute. They missed a few more chances before we took control again and four points in the final ten minutes from Lee Hayes, Mitchell Casey and Ian Cantwell (2) secured the win for our lads.

    De La Salle 2-4 Glenmore 0-4

    Good win for our U-11 A team over in Glenmore in the first match of the U-11 League. This was a battling performance against a good Glenmore team with our backs especially defending very well. Overall a good performance, with a hard working midfield and some well taken scores from our forwards. Next match at home vs Tramore.

    Results:
    Well done to our U-12 girls who took part in a 6 team blitz in Tramore on Sat 12th April against teams from Roanmore, Butlerstown, Tramore, Ferrybank and St Mollerans. The squad on the day was Emer, Charlotte, Frances, Holly, Jill, Saoirse, Sarah, Caitlin, Sarah, Ellen, Ava & Sharna. Next U-12 blitz is on Sat 26th April in Roanmore.

    Fixtures:
    U-14 A Championship Round 1 away to Brickeys on Tues 15th April has been deferred to a later date.
    U-14 Feile on Mon 21st April @ 12noon in Ballygunner Gaa Club. Please support the girls.

    Well done to our club girls and their team mates on the Waterford Wildcats U-14 basketball squads who took part in the Club All Irelands last Sat 12th & Sun 13th April. The U-14s came 3rd in Tralee winning against Brunell, Cork in the 3rd-4th place play-off, Aisling, Abby & Katie O’Keeffe are on this squad. The U-16s were runners up in Portlaoise losing out to Moycullen, Galway in the final, Courtney, Beth, Niamh, Rachel & Katie Ryan are on this squad. Great achievements girls well done.
