    • County Senior Hurling League

De La Salle 0-20 An Rinn 1-14

Our senior hurlers began the league with a three point victory away to An Rinn last Saturday evening. An Rinn made a great start scoring 1-1 in the first two minute but we recovered to lead 0-9 to 1-4 at half time. We dominated the first twenty minutes of the second half to lead by eight points before An Rinn hit six points in a row to make it a two point game with two minutes left. However, we outscored our opponents by two points to one in the final minutes to secure the win.

    • County Minor Football Championship

Gaultier 4-6 De La Salle 3-5

We lost the first game of this years minor football championship to Gaultier in a match played in Gracedieu on St. Patrick’s morning. This was a very competitive game between two evenly matched sides. Both side created a number of goal chances throughout the match and it was the more composed finishing by our opponents that was the difference between the sides. We trailed by two points at halftime 2-4 to 2-2 with our goals coming from Seaghan Walsh and James Cotter. Our opponents stole a march on us early in the second half but a superb goal from Sam Flynn left four points between the sides. A grandstand finish appeared to be in order when we were awarded a penalty but Niall O’Keeffe’s effort hit the post and Gaultier ran out the winners.

Panel: Sean Treacy, Harry Lawton, Lorcan Dwyer Sheridan, Conor Signorelli. Shane O’Neill, Sam Flynn, Darren Kenneally, Seaghan Walsh, Aidan Gannon, Dan Casey, Kevin Hennessy, Eamonn Brosnan, James Cotter, Dylan Finn, Niall O’Keeffe, Jack Stickle, Rueben Halloran, Aaron Wymberry, Nathan Finn, Conor Murphy.

    • East U-21 B Football Semi Final

De La Salle 6-9 Tramore 0-3

The new season began with a win for our U-21 footballers over an understrength Tramore side in Tramore last Sunday. Given that we were forced to concede a walkover in this championship last year we were delighted to have twenty players available on the morning and we now have a final to look forward to.

The first twenty minutes were closely contested with only Eddie Meaney’s penalty separating the sides. However, goals from Thomas Douglas and Michael Roche saw us pull away to lead 3-6 to 0-2 at half time. With Tramore losing a couple of players to injury the game was over as a contest two minutes into the second half when Thomas Douglas caught Evan Whelan’s line ball and crashed it to the net. Tramore replied with a point but further goals from Dan Casey and Thomas Douglas’ hat trick ensured a final place.

Scorers: Thomas Douglas 3-3, Michael Roche (0-1 free) 1-3, Eddie Meaney (1-0 penalty) 1-1, Dan Casey 1-0, Ryan Duke and Ciaran Corrigan 0-1 each.

Panel: Donal Carey, Ryan Duke (captain), Sean Carton, Sean O’Keeffe, Sam Flynn, Luke Flynn, James Stone, Ciaran Corrigan, Gavin Coppinger, Evan Whelan, Eddie Meaney, Peter Grogan, Michael Roche, Seaghan Walsh, Thomas Douglas, Conor Signorelli, Dan Casey, Darren Kenneally, Jack O’Donohue, Eamonn Brosnan.
