County U-21 B Football Championship Final
An Gaeltacht 1-15 De La Salle 1-6
Our U-21 footballers put in a battling performance but in the end were well beaten by a superior An Gaeltacht side in Kill last Sunday. Lining out without the injured Adam Farrell, Tom Moran, Dean Walsh and the unavailable Adam Doyle from the team that won the eastern final we struggled throughout the first half and trailed 0-9 to 0-2 at the break. Despite conceding an early second half goal to trail by ten points, helped by the half time introduction of Shane Ryan to full back and the switching of Craig Dowling to midfield we managed to reduce the arrears to five points but An Gaeltacht regained control in the last ten minutes to finish deserving winners.
An Gaeltacht made the early running and scored two points in the first three minutes. Dylan Foley opened our account in the sixth minute but An Gaeltacht added two to their account before our keeper Ciaran Brady was called into action with a fine save in the 11th minute. Eddie Meaney scored our second point in the 14th minute but the rest of the half belonged to our opponents who added five unanswered points to lead 0-9 to 0-2 at the interval. We got a bad start to the second half when after winning a free out in the second minute, we kicked it astray and An Gaeltacht took full advantage to goal. However, within a minute we goaled ourselves when Craig Dowling was brought down and Eddie Meaney expertly converted the penalty. Points from James Coad after another foul on Craig Dowling and Brian Cunningham made it 1-9 to 1-4 after seven minutes. An Gaeltacht pointed in the 10th minute but two minutes later James Coad replied after Craig Dowling was fouled again. A point for An Gaeltacht in the 14th minute was followed by another fine save by Ciaran Brady before An Gaeltacht pointed again in the 23rd minute. A superb long range point from Shane Ryan a minute later proved to be our last score as An Gaeltacht added three late points to secure their victory.
Thanks to our manager Eddie Cooney, selectors Eoin Casey, Paddy Kennedy, Keith Cooney, the players and Johann Carey on first aid for their efforts and congratulations to An Gaeltacht on their win.

County U-16 Division 1 Football Championship Final
Ballinacourty 0-13 De La Salle 1-2
Our U-16 football season came to a disappointing end on Saturday last when we were comphrensively beaten by Ballinacourty in the county final at Walsh Park. While there has to be disappointment with our performance great credit has to be given to our much better opponents who gave an excellent all round team performance with fourteen men for a long period of the game.
We trailed at half time 0-9 to 0-2 having played against the wind, our two points coming from Aidan Gannon. Our opponents continued to dominate after the break with our only score being a late goal from Kevin Hennessy. Congratulations to Ballinacourty on a fine performance.
Thanks to our manager Johnny Walsh, selectors Paudie Brosnan, Billy O’Neill, Alan Kelly, Christy O’Halloran and the players for their efforts
