    • All Ireland Hurling Semi Final

    Commiserations to Derek McGrath, Kevin Moran, Jake Dillon, Stephen Daniels, Eddie Barrett, Shane McNulty, Mark Cooney, Fergal O’Brien and the Waterford senior hurlers on their defeat last Sunday by the reigning champions Kilkenny in the All Ireland hurling semi final. The lads can be very proud of their year and their efforts. They gave us some great days out and at the end of the year they have the presentation of the National Hurling League medals to look forward to.

    • County U-16 Hurling Championship

    Our U-16 hurlers retained their unbeaten record with a comprehensive victory over Tramore in Tramore last Saturday in a game which we dominated from the start.

    • Condolences

     

    The death occurred last week of Joan O’Neill, wife of our field committee chairman Billy, after an illness. We extend our deepest sympathy to Billy and his family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí.

    Tuesday 11th August County Minor Hurling Championship Division 1 v Dungarvan in Gracedieu 7.30pm.

    Saturday 15th August County Senior Football Championship v Rathgormack in Carrickbeg 7.30pm.

    Club Training:

    U-8, 10  squads are on there summer holidays break.

    U-12s on Weds 12th August @ 6.30pm in Gracedieu.

    Fixtures:

    Our Junior squad are at home to Lismore in rRound 4 of the Championship on Thurs 20th August throw in 7.30pm.

    U-12 A County League final DLS v Gailltir date-time-venue tbc.

    U-16 A Championship away game v Dungarvan on Tues 18th Aug.

    U-18 A Championship away game v Gailltir on Tues 11th Aug throw in 7pm.

    Results:

    Our Junior squad played Ferrybank away in Round 3 of the championship on Thurs 6th August and recorded a good win 2-9 to 2-6 in a tough encounter best remembered for some bizarre refereeing. 3 wins from 3 games played, well done girls keep up the good work.

    County:

    Well done to Beth and Brianna who were part of the Waterford Intermediate squad who qualified for the All Ireland semi final with a good win over Kildare 4-11 to 1-10. Beth notching 3-1 in the process.

    Best of luck to our club girls Taylor, Colette, Katie R, Niamh, Aisling, Chloe and their team mates on the U-16 county squad who play Meath in the B All Ireland Camogie semi final next Sunday 16th August time & venue tbc.
