    • Senior Hurling Championship

    Our senior hurlers had a fine win in Fraher Field last Friday night on a scoreline of 3-25 to 13 points. It’s now back to work for the next couple of weeks for both management and panel to get ready for the next stage of the competition

    • Minor Hurling Championship

    Our minor hurlers had their first defeat of their campaign in Gracedieu last Wednesday night against a strong Roanmore side. The lads put in a gallant effort for the whole game but fell short on a six point loss. They resume business again with an away fixture to Mount Sion next Thursday with a 7:30pm throw in.

    • Camogie News

    Waterford take on Galway in Semple Stadium Thurles next Saturday evening in their All Ireland quarter final. Throw in is at 7:15pm. Alter a good run out against All Ireland champions Cork in Walsh Park last week the girls can really look forward to this tie the weekend. Best of luck to Beth Brianna and Keeley all the girls and management. Hard luck to Niamh Murphy and Lucy Hogan who were part of the Junior squad who played Kerry as the opening game last Saturday in Walsh Park.

    Renault World Games

    We will be hosting Toronto Men and Ladies football teams on Tuesday July 30th between 7.30pm and 9:30pm in our clubhouse. With ribs and colcannon and Irish music on the night. All are welcome to attend. Also there will be a GAA PANEL EVENT which will take place in H & H Motors, Butlerstown Roundabout, Cork Road Waterford. The event will be hosted by Marty Morrissey and guests such as Anthony Daly, Tomas O Se and our very own John Mullane to contain plenty of debate and discussion on all things GAA.

    • U 15 Hurling Championship

    Our u15 hurlers played out a 1-08 to 1-08 apiece draw up in Mount Sion last Monday night With both sides level at halftime with 6 points a piece there was little between the teams throughout the game  with a nail biting finish at the end.

    The lads now play Abbeyside in a home fixture  in their next game

     

    • Senior Hurling Championship

    Our senior hurlers will try make it 3 from 3 when they travel to Fraher Field in Dungarvan on Friday night where they take on  Ballyduff Upper in their third game of the campaign.

     

    • Intermediate Hurling Championship

     

    Our intermediate hurlers were out last Saturday. In a tough game the lads edged out a 3 point win over St Saviours in Butlerstown. They sit on top of the group and are into the next stage of the competition

     

    • Minor Hurling Championship

     

    Our minor hurlers are out this Wednesday with a home fixture against Roanmore with a7.30pm throw in at Gracedieu

     

    • Coaching Work Shops

    Deise Og are running coaching workshops with WIT Vikings and WIT Arena

    The workshops are for coaches of 13 to 16 year olds

    There will be a mix of practical and Q&A on the night

    23rd July Defensive play with John Burns

    8th Aug Attacking play with Dan Shanahan

    All are welcome to attend

    • Family Fun Day 2019

     

    Our 2019 Family Fun Day took place last Sunday up in Gracedieu.

    It started with the sponsored walk down to the Greenway and back up then to the BBQ where Charolette Brenner and  Rose Madigan refuelled every one with Tom Kearney’s finest meats

    The kids had great fun on the inflatables with other fun games on the day also.

    Well done to all involved in organising the event and thankfully we got a dry day for it.

    Could all those with outstanding sponsorship cards please return them as soon as possible to your managers.

    The Renault GAA World Games will be played out at the Sports Campus of Waterford Institute of Technology in Carriganore from July 28 to August 1, with the finals taking place on August 2 at Croke Park.

    Our intermediate footballers were out last week with two games. With a narrow 4 point loss to Kill in Dunhill on Wednesday they bounced back to winning ways on Saturday with a fine display against Newtown in Kill on Saturday evening with 7 points to spare.

     

    • Minor Hurling Championship

     

    Our minor hurlers began their campaign with an exciting game in McGinn Park, Ballygunner last Wednesday. The lads led from start to finish with fine performances all over the field and were just unlucky not to come out with the win as Ballygunner scored a in the last few minutes to level the game. The group can take a lot from this game and are out again on the 24th July against Roanmore.

     

    • Family Fun Day 2019:

     

    Our 2019 Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday 21st July in our Gracedieu Clubhouse.

    The sponsored walk will begin at 1pm and will leave from Gracedieu and go along the Waterford Greenway and return back to Gracedieu.

    Afterwards at the clubhouse we will have a free BBQ, fun activities for all ages, music from DJ Glenn Sheridan, Cúl Heroes and lots lots more!!

    Our sponsored walk cards can be got from any committee member.

    Waterford Blues won the A cup competition & Waterford Whites defeated Waterford Stripes in the C shield competition. De La Salle Camogie Club were well represented Maggie Gostl, Aoife Connolly, Alannah McNulty, Kayleigh Kirby, Abbie Mullane & Ella Holohan. Some other of our club girls were away on holidays. Well done to all the girls & mentors

    Last Saturday night, we prevailed against Tallow by eight points in the Senior Hurling League Semi-Final. We now await the winners of Dungarvan and Ballygunner. The date of the final is yet to be confirmed.

    Our final group game in the championship is on Friday 26th July at 8:30pm in Fraher Field against Ballyduff Upper.

     

    • Intermediate Football Championship

    • U 9 HURLING

    Our under 9s had a match against Roanmore last Saturday. We played a very entertaining game, there was great improvement shown in these young lads, fine scores from Calum Walsh, Paddy Fitzpatrick, Nathan Power, Billy O’Shea. Whilst in defence Connor O Sullivan, Glen Hoolahan, Finn Murphy, Sean McBride, Rian Byrne, Simon Kryszkowski, Dennis Uloha and Cade Shanahan were rock solid. It was in our final attack which saw a great pass from Jamie to Brian Cunningham who struck over a great point to seal the win. Well done lads.

     

    • U 11 HURLING

    Congratulations to our under 11 Hurlers who beat Roanmore in Gracedieu on Wednesday night to top the u11 Hurling City League.

    The boys won all of their 5 games showing great spirit and playing some great hurling along the way. Away wins at Mt. Sion and Ballygunner, home wins against Mollerans, Mooncoin and Roanmore summed up a great campaign.

    Well done to Johnny Arrigan, Sam Hayes, Jeff Fanning, Daragh Keane, Tom O’Mahony, Conor Power, Shane Power, Adam Kearney, Darragh Doyle, Fionn Phelan, Toby Ryan, Luke Mc Carthy and Jack Mulally. Tommy Ryan, Tom Keaeney,Murt Doyle and Paudi Brosnan.
