Missing five of the team that won the previous week we played the entire game with fourteen players with the injured Jack McCarthy making up the numbers for the start of the second half. The lads tried hard and put up a decent first half display\u00a0but were gradually worn down by our opponents as they tired.<\/p>\n<p>We began badly conceding a goal in the third minute. Brickeys added a point in the 12th minute and it took us until the 28th minute to open our account when Shane Ryan pointed a free. Brickeys pointed again in injury time and we\u00a0trailed 1-2 to 0-1 at the interval. The third quarter was all one way traffic with Brickeys kicking five\u00a0unanswered\u00a0points. They wrapped the game up in the 17th minute with their second goal to lead 2-7 to 0-1. The guests on the day to present the various medals and trophies included county senior hurlers Kevin Moran, Jake Dillon and Stephen Daniels as well as minor All Ireland medal winners Adam Farrell, Shane Ryan and Jack McCarthy.<br \/>\nJuvenile chairman Paudie Brosnan welcomed the lads and their parents. He complimented all the teams who had represented the club during the year and emphasised the importance of the enjoyment of playing whether trophies were being won or not.<\/p>\n<p>Eastern medals were presented to our U-15 hurlers, our U-14 hurlers and footballers and to our U-13 footballers. It was then on to the presentation of the various player of the year and most improved player awards.<br \/>\nMost Improved Players<br \/>\nU-11 hurling: Ryan McCarthy, U-12 hurling: Harry Lawton, U-13 hurling: Kieran O&#8217;Loughlin, U-14 hurling: Ciaran Corrigan.<br \/>\nU-12 football: Darren Kenneally, U-13 football James Cotter, U-14 football: Eoghan Rea.<br \/>\nPlayers of the Year<br \/>\nU-11 hurling: Conor Murphy, U-12 hurling: Eamon Brosnan, U-13 Hurling: Dillon Finn, U-14 hurling: Sean Carton, U-15 hurling: Lee Wall, U-16 hurling: Evan Whelan.<br \/>\nU-12 football: Niall O&#8217;Keeffe, U-13 football: Kevin Hennessy, U-14 football: Luke Walsh, U-16 football: Ciaran Brady.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>National Football League<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oran Keevers saw action again today as the Waterford senior footballers got a battling draw with Tipperary in Clonmel.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Dinner Dance<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The club\u2019s victory Dinner Dance will take place in less than three weeks on Saturday night 1st March in the Granville Hotel at 7.30pm. It promises to be a great occasion with county medals to be presented to our intermediate footballers, U-21 hurlers and minor hurlers. Eastern medals will also be presented to our intermediate footballers and U-21 hurlers. Tickets are priced at \u20ac40 and numbers are limited. Please order asap from either Owen Dunphy (086-3822893) or Mary Dillon (087-3666545).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Condolences<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We extend our sympathy to\u00a0the family of retired Garda Inspector Michael Delaney on his recent\u00a0death.
