Our young team gave it their all but the experience and skill of our opponents, who were All Ireland runners up in this competition a few years ago, proved too much on the day. Well done to all on getting this far in only our second year playing adult camogie.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>John J. Murphy East Junior B Hurling Semi Final<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>De La Salle 0-19 Kilmacthomas 0-9<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our junior B hurlers qualified for the final with a good win over Kilmacthomas in Walsh Park last Sunday. Playing against the wind in the first half we held our opponents to a one point lead and in the second half we took over the game and got the scores needed to secure the victory.<\/p>\n<p>We opened the scoring with a Keith Cooney point in the first minute but Kilmacthomas equalised immediately. Eamonn Fitzgerald restored our lead in the fourth minute after Shaun O&#8217;Brien was fouled and Barry Twomey added another a minute later. Three points by Kilmacthomas had them ahead by the ninth minute but Willie Power had us all square in the 13th minute. Points in the 14th and 15th minutes had Kilmacthomas ahead again but Willie Power replied in the 19th minute and Keith Cooney levelled matters in the 23rd minute. Kilmacthomas again hit the front with points in the 26th and 27th minutes before a foul on Luke Lawlor saw Eamonn Fitzgerald point in the 32nd minute to give our opponents a half time lead of 0-8 to 0-7. We began the second half with two frees from Eamonn Fitzgerald. Thomas Kenny pointed from distance in the fourth minute and two more frees from Eamonn Fitzgerald had us ahead 0-12 to 0-8 after eight minutes. The next score came in the 17th minute when the excellent Eamonn Fitzgerald pointed and he added three more from two frees and a sixty five to make it 0-16 to 0-8 with twenty four minutes played. Kilmacthomas got what proved to be their only second half score in the 26th minute before our goalkeeper Conor Bohane pointed a long range free. Oct.<\/p>\n<p>U-9\/10 age groups 7-8pm on Weds 26th Oct.<\/p>\n<p>U-12, 13, 14 on Sat 29th Oct\u00a0 @ 12noon in Gracedieu.<\/p>\n<p>U-16, 18 &amp; adult on Tues 25th Oct @ 7pm in Poleberry.<\/p>\n<p>Newcomers are always more than welcome to join in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fixtures:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our U-18 girls will play in the County A Final on Sat 29th Oct v Gailltir, venue &amp; time tbc.<\/p>\n<p>The Munster Club Junior Championship Final took place on Sat 22nd Oct against the Clare Intermediate Champions Scariff\/Ogonnelloe in Cashel King Cormac&#8217;s GAA ground, Cashel, Co Tipperary. We lost the toss and had the wind to our advantage in the first half. Scariff opened the scoring with a goal. Our girls responded brilliantly and played well throughout the rest of the first half going in at the half time break down by 1 point: DLS 0-10 Scariff 2-5. Our girls picked it up early in the second half but our opponents experience shown through allowing them push on in the latter stages of the second half. Our girls never gave up ad they battled hard right to the final whistle. Final Score: DLS 0-15 Scariff\/Ogonnelloe 2-19. Well done to all the girls on this panel for the commitment and attitude they have shown throughout the year. They have been a credit to themselves, their families, club and county. They can now look forward to the Waterford Senior Championship in 2017 after winning back to back titles Junior (2015) &amp; Intermediate (2016) Many thanks to everybody who travelled up on the day and throughout our County and Munster campaigns to support the girls. Well done to our opponents on a deserved win and many thanks to the staff in the Barne Lodge restaurant for their hospitality on the way home after the game.
