This was an excellent victory for our lads considering nine of the team were U-16 and great credit is due to them for stepping up as they did. We also had to play the last twenty minutes with 14 players after Luke Walsh picked up a serious thumb injury which forced him out and we had no substitutes. We wish\u00a0Luke a speedy return to fitness.<\/p>\n<p>Tramore\u00a0had first use\u00a0of the elements but with Shane Ryan and Lee Wall outstanding\u00a0in defence they\u00a0struggled to make an impression and at the end of the first quarter two points from James Coad and one from Adam Doyle saw us lead 0-3 to 0-2. We took a firm grip on the game in the 18th\u00a0minute\u00a0when Eddie Meaney set up Jamie Roche\u00a0who rounded the keeper to score\u00a0our first goal. Points from Evan Whelan and Adam Doyle\u00a0helped us to\u00a0a\u00a01-5 to 0-4\u00a0interval lead.<\/p>\n<p>The second half began with\u00a0Tramore pointing in the sixth minute but\u00a0two minutes later came the move of the match which began with Ryan Duke and involved James Coad, Eoin McGrath-Butler and Eddie Meaney who set up Adam Doyle for a cracking goal. Tramore replied with a point but we got our\u00a0third goal in the 13th minute when Eddie Meaney got his fist to\u00a0James Coad&#8217;s long delivery. An exchange of points involving\u00a0Jamie Roche\u00a0saw us\u00a0lead 3-6 to 0-7\u00a0with ten minutes left. The scoring was completed in the 24th and 25th minutes when U-15 players Sean Power and Eoin McGrath-Butler scored two excellent goals.<\/p>\n<p>Scorers: Adam Doyle 1-2 (0-1 free), Jamie Roche 1-1, Eddie Meaney, Sean Power and Eoin McGrath-Butler 1-0 each, James Coad\u00a00-2, Evan Whelan 0-1.<br \/>\nPanel: Donal Carey, Kieran Corrigan, Shane Ryan, Ryan Duke, Sean Carton, Lee Wall, Luke Walsh,\u00a0Evan Whelan, James Coad, James Stone, Eddie Meaney,\u00a0Eoin McGrath-Butler, Sean Power, Jamie Roche, Adam Doyle.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New Club\u00a0Website<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0official launch of\u00a0our new\u00a0website\u00a0took place last\u00a0Wednesday\u00a0in the\u00a0John Kelly Opel Showrooms on the Cork Road and was attended by a large number of club members both young and old. It was great to see so many people there and our thanks to all who\u00a0supported the launch.<\/p>\n<p>Great credit\u00a0and thanks is due to Tommy Ryan who worked tirelessly to put the new site together and it is certainly well worth a look. We are still looking for any photographs out there that could be added to the galleries.<\/p>\n<p>Sincere thanks also to our former senior hurler Paddy Murphy who had kept the old site updated which was not an easy task given that he is based in Dublin. Your work is much appreciated Paddy.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Hurling League<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Well done to Derek McGrath, Kevin Moran,\u00a0Shane McNulty\u00a0and Eddie Barrett\u00a0on Waterford&#8217;s\u00a0hard fought\u00a0victory over\u00a0Dublin in Walsh Park last Sunday.
